[Warning: Spoilers ahead! If you haven’t seen the trailer give it a peek first!]

Finally, after years of waiting, four to be precise, Attack on Titan season 2 has been announced!

After the anime caught up with the manga back in 2013 the series has been on a very long hiatus, but, now that the manga has created plenty of headway, the second season of the anime adaptation is in production. The official release date is set for Spring 2017 and will be aired in Japan in April, so hopefully the subbed/dubbed versions will follow on soon.

At the end of season 1 we saw how humanity had had enough of the Titans’ endless onslaught and proffered a new tactic – to take the fight to the Titans instead.

Season 2 promises to deliver the continued story along with plenty of twists on the way, one being made apparent – if you watched – right at the end of the finale of season 1 (if you didn’t go have a watch!).

With the announcement of the new season came with it a brand new trailer. From the trailer we saw new characters, new special Titans and entirely new developments in the story – one particular bump in the road being the discovery that a certain group of Titans have been protecting humans from the other Titans the whole time!

Season 2 is set to be a huge hit, and for those of you who are a wee bit jealous of the earlier airing in Japan and are waiting for subs/dubs, ‘Funimation’ has confirmed that it will be streaming a simulcast version of episode 1 on the 1st of April so make sure you don’t miss it!
